At Ketchum, she advised clients across a diverse range of sectors, including engineering, energy, F&B, government, healthcare, professional and financial services, technology and tourism. She was previously Head of Corporate Communications at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, Agency for Science and Technology and Research (A*STAR), and began her career as a journalist and editor at MediaCorp Press and Singapore Press Holdings.

The latest hire comes shortly after a series of senior appointments by the agency early this year, as part of its continued expansion and growth in Asia. Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) announced the appointment of June Yeoh as Senior Director of International Program Sales in Asia.

In this position, which she will assume on 7 April 2015, June will report to Caroline Beaton, VIMN’s Senior Vice President for International Program Sales, and will be based in Singapore. She will oversee all of VIMN Asia’s international program sales across Greater China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia; the company’s brand portfolio in Asia includes MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Comedy Central.

June brings with her more than 12 years of experience in the TV industry, having covered Channel, Content and Distribution. Before joining VIMN, she was Manager of TV Content Distribution and Format Sales at BBC Worldwide Southeast Asia since 2011, responsible for the sales of BBC Worldwide’s programs and formats catalogs to all terrestrial, pay and digital platforms in Southeast Asia. Prior to that, she worked at Bloomberg LP, CNBC International and at MTV Asia.

Ramaswamy began his advertising career at Ogilvy & Mather and has since held senior planning and servicing roles across Asia and America at Modem Media, BLUE Interactive, Publicis, Possible and Wunderman. Over the course of his career, he has led high-visibility accounts including IBM, Citibank, Shangri-la Hotels & Resorts, Delta Airlines, Coca-Cola, Cisco Systems, Unilever, Singapore Airlines, SAP and Johnson & Johnson.

In this position, which she assumes with immediate effect, Syahrizan will be responsible for the Nickelodeon Brand across Greater China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia. She reports to Mark Whitehead, VIMN’s Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Asia and is based in Singapore.

A 15-year veteran in VIMN and with nearly two decades of experience in the TV industry, Syahrizan was most recently the Senior Director of Programming for Nickelodeon Asia, where she was responsible for programming, acquisitions and on-air promotions for Southeast Asia channels on both Pay TV and free-to-air platforms. Before joining VIMN, Syahrizan was with MediaCorp’s previous TV12 in Singapore.

Syahrizan holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Murdoch University, Australia.

Cheung has more than seventeen years of experience in the media and digital marketing industry, and was formerly the Head of Sales at Google Hong Kong. In that role, Cheung spent more than eight years growing and developing new market opportunities in the region whilst serving the top brand clients and advertising agencies in China.

Prior to Google, Cheung worked in senior sales roles at Yahoo! Hong Kong and for media companies Sing Tao News Corporation and the Hong Kong Economic Times. Most recently, Cheung was the Chief Business Officer of digital marketing solutions provider AsiaPac Net Media, where she helped build the company's China and Taiwan operations.

At Google, Cheung was one of the first employees at its Hong Kong operations and helped create the company's business in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and across Asia.

Based in TripAdvisor’s regional Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, Irene is responsible for formulating business strategies in key verticals for TripAdvisor Display Advertising as well as managing key client relations to help them improve their understanding and utilisation of TripAdvisor offerings.

Prior to TripAdvisor, Irene was Head of Branding at Google and as Google’s pioneer sales employee in Singapore, she was instrumental in propelling Google’s presence in Asia Pacific and accelerating Google’s online sales revenue over the years. Aaron Leong, formerly a Sales Manager for TripAdvisor in Southeast Asia, will now report to Irene in a newly created role as Client Development Manager for Asia Pacific where he will be tasked with developing key client relationships.

At IDC, Mr. Lowther led the restructuring of the business and renewed the company’s business strategy, product portfolio and leadership team. During his previous service with Irdeto, Mr. Lowther drove the creation of a product portfolio that achieved substantial revenue growth and subsequently led Irdeto’s Digital TV business as well as its global Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Development teams. Healthcare brands. In that role, he led a cross functional team of seven agencies across all marketing disciplines to develop integrated ideas.

Essence, a global digital agency and the largest independent buyer of digital media, announced three new senior level appointments.

Rob Reifenheiser, the head of media for North America, has been promoted to Managing Director of the region, and Cathy Carl, global marketing director, will add new business to her list of responsibilities by simultaneously serving as head of North American business development. The agency has also hired Mike Selman as managing director of the Seattle office. These appointments come on the heels of the agency experiencing over 40 percent revenue growth in 2014, with headcount doubling every year since 2010.

robReifenheiser came to Essence in 2014 from Starcom MediaVest, and most recently served as its North American Head of Media, overseeing the agency's programmatic, biddable, planning, account management, investment and advertising operations teams across its New York, San Francisco and Seattle offices. The role of Managing Director, North America will hold Reifenheiser responsible for the management of all US offices, supporting business development initiatives and identifying regional growth opportunities. He will remain based out of the agency's New York office.

cathyCarl also started at Essence last year when she was named Global Marketing Director after heading Communications for Razorfish. In addition to her duties of promoting and protecting Essence's brand and reputation with press and analysts, managing its official social channels and crafting thought leadership and collateral, Carl's expanded position as Head of North America Business Development will task her with identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the US. This is familiar terrain for Carl, who earlier in her career ran business development for DDB Seattle. To accommodate the various responsibilities of her new position, Carl has relocated to San Francisco.

Selman joins Essence after a six year stint at Razorfish, where he was Group Vice President, leading the strategy practice for its West Region. Other previous roles include Senior Director of Marketing for T-Mobile, Product Manager of Allied Telesyn and marketing positions at Ripcord Systems, Headbone Interactive and The Walt Disney Company. His appointment as Managing Director of the Seattle office for Essence will call on Selman to apply his broad client and agency-side background in the media, strategy and creative businesses, to track the day-to-day operations of the office, which consists of 30 people, support new business efforts and manage its client roster.

Reifenheiser will continue reporting directly into Global CEO Christian Juhl, as will Carl for marketing-related activity, while reporting into Reifenheiser for business development. Selman will also report into Reifenheiser. All appointments are effective immediately.

TubeMogul, a leading enterprise software company for video advertising, and WideOrbit Inc., the leading provider of advertising management software for media companies, announced that DigitasLBi is the first-ever agency to use programmatic technology to buy broadcast TV advertising during the Oscars ceremony.

The 30-second ad aired in eight markets during the  live broadcast. The spot was purchased through a programmatic technology partnership that matches marketer demand from TubeMogul's PTV software with broadcaster inventory from WideOrbit's WO Programmatic–TV online marketplace.

 


 

Universal Music Group (UMG), a fully owned subsidiary of Vivendi, and Vessel, a premium online video service, announced an agreement to premiere select UMG videos through Vessel for an exclusive time period before making the content available on free, ad-supported services.

The specific artist videos from UMG's labels that will be featured on Vessel's paid tier will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Vessel subscribers receive at least 72 hours of exclusive access to short-form, professionally produced content on mobile devices and the Web for the price of $2.99 a month. During the early access period, videos on Vessel can earn a multiple of 20-times more per-view compared with free, ad-supported online video services.

After the exclusive time period, videos posted on Vessel become available on general ad-supported online services, including Vessel's free, ad-supported offering.
