OpenEMM offers a great user interface, sophisticated bounce management, link tracking, lots of graphical real-time statistics, a CMS module and a scripting feature to implement individual tasks.

OpenEEM

OpenEMM is the first open source application for e-mail marketing. Its code base has been developed since 1999 and is used - as part of the commercial software product E-Marketing Manager (EMM) - by companies like IBM, Daimler, Siemens and Deutsche Telekom.

It offers already more than 95% of the functionality of most commercial products and some features most commercial products do not offer right now (for example MySQL support and CMS functionality). The main difference to its commercial brother is that OpenEMM is an easy to set up single server solution, while EMM operates distributed on several servers as software on demand (SaaS).

For further details regarding all the features offered (User Interface, Permission Management, Profile Database, Marketing with Target Groups, Creation of a mailing, Content Manager (CM), Reports and Statistics and more) please refer to http://www.openemm.org/why/features.html.

poMMo

poMMo is a versatile mass mailing software. It can be used to add a mailing list to your Web site or to organize standalone mailings. Unique features, such as the ability to mail subsets of your subscribers, set it apart from alternatives. poMMo is written in PHP and freely provided under the GPL.

Designed to be powerful and yet easy to use, poMMo provides flexible mailing management that everyone needs - from software projects to shoe stores, marketing firms, or pioneers of the blogosphere.

Throttling

It can be installed web based in two minutes and the subscriber base can be easily imported and exported.

The software is completely customizable and seems to have the most flexible list manager. It enables limiting the sending of mails with throttling by hour, bytes, and domain limits. With the revolutionary AJAX based subscriber management it is a powerful tool.

poMMo is an enterprise class solution, offering features like a very low disk I/O and a fast lightweight framework. Index optimizations result in lightning fast queries, even during complicated group filtering on large (70,000+) lists. The tool enables mailings sent through up to 4 SMTP relays simultaneously.

PHPlist can manage a list of subscribers and send e-mail messages to large numbers of subscribers. The subscription management, registration, personal data changes and unsubscribe requests, are automated. Subscriptions to one or more lists are made through a subscription page that can be integrated into a website. The information requested during registration, for example, country of residence, language, date of birth, favorite food, etc. is determined by the list administrators and can be modified at any time. This information can then be used for targeted messaging, i.e. sending may be limited to subscribers who meet certain criteria, such as country or city of residence.

The public interface is available in 35 languages and the documentation detailing the functions and features of the software is available in English and is partially translated into Spanish, French, and Dutch.

The software was developed on a GNU Linux with Apache. It is also compatible with Unix, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, Mac OS and Windows.

PHPlist is designed to connect to a MySQL database and with its support for ADOdb it is possible to extend the connectivity to other databases such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, Sybase, IBM DB2, Oracle, etc.
