Editor’s Note
Dear Reader,
Fifteen years ago, the first video, only 18 seconds long, was
uploaded to YouTube. Two years later, the first explanatory videos
were published, and today a billion of them are watched
worldwide every day on YouTube alone. No wonder that videos
are responsible for around 80% of global data traffic by now.
Online videos have become an effective and indispensable tool in
marketing for companies of all sizes, since they can not only
convey relevant content clearly in a short time, but also serve the
viewer on different emotional levels and thus help to build a
relationship with the target group.
So, to no surprise, marketing departments contribute in a big way
to this trend: in 2020, videos came in first place for content in
corporate content marketing, ahead of blogs, e-books, and
infographics. The fact is that 92% of those responsible for
marketing consider videos an important part of their marketing
strategy.
Therefore, we are devoted to providing you with insights and news
related to ‘Video Marketing & Storytelling” in this issue of Asian
eMarketing. We give tips on how videos should be strategically
planned and used: from the objective and the concept phase,
through presentation techniques and tools during shooting, to post
-processing and digital distribution.
