Madhavi Tumkur, formerly regional communications head for Yahoo! Southeast Asia, has signed on with IPG Mediabrands to become Head of Integrated Communications in the World Markets Asia cluster, effective immediately.
In this role, Madhavi will be working out of the Singapore office and tasked with managing IPG Mediabrands’ communications across the Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Korean and Taiwan markets that incorporate the World Markets Asia cluster, overseeing external and internal communications, messaging and image and reputation management in the region.
Madhavi brings to this job an extensive array of skills from working across strategic communications, copywriting and journalism fields in the past 15 years. She held a key strategic communications post with Cathay Pacific for five years, working closely with management to guide the company through the Asian Economic Crisis of the late 1990s. She knows the media industry intimately after reporting on digital, social and mobile trends in marketing as the Editor of Campaign in Singapore and for the past two years has been managing communications for Yahoo! across five diverse markets in Southeast Asia, managing media relations, conceptualizing campaigns and boosting the company profile in the region.
Madhavi’s appointment follows the promotion of Genevieve Loriant, formerly the head of PR & communications for IPG Mediabrands in APAC, to the role of Head of PR in the G14 cluster that includes Australia, Benelux, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Spain and the UK.
Rick McClendon joins Manley Labs, an American manufacturer of hand-built, high-quality audio hardware, as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. McClendon has decades of experience working with professional audio and music companies such as Tascam, Seymour Duncan, Harman International, and Roland and worked most recently as General Manager for Aphex Systems.
In his new position he will work directly with president EveAnna Manley and Strategic Advisor Matt Ward, to solidify Manley's presence in the pro audio market and to expand Manley's worldwide distribution networks. In addition to managing Manley's network of US dealers and international distributors, Rick will drive efforts to raise awareness in the marketplace of the fastidious build quality and sonic fortitude of Manley's products.
Doris Kuok joined the team of UM as Global Managing Partner for their Cathay Pacific Airways’ account, following Mellisa Gillies’ announcement of her departure at the end of the month.
Based in Hong Kong, Kuok will work in collaboration with key internal leaders from UM’s research and analytics, strategic planning and media expertise groups, to lead Cathay’s Central Team and provide integrated marketing communications solutions to the airline across its 27 markets worldwide. She will report to Prashant Kumar, UM President for World Markets Asia and Vince Viola, Managing Director of McCann Erickson’s Cathay Pacific Central Team.
A digital evangelist with two decades of experience comprising agency, client and campaign management at regional and international level, Kuok was most recently the General Manager and North Asia Regional Director at Starcom Mediavest, growing the agency’s digital and social capacity by almost five fold. Prior to that, Kuok spent six years managing client leadership at Mindshare in Hong Kong, working on global campaigns for several leading clients including P&G and Samsung. Kuok is no stranger to UM having spent five years with the agency in the late 90s leading up to the early 2000s working on various business management positions.

Together, these new additions bring more than 60 years of experience leading strategic marketing, sales and channel programs. All will report to Christy Wyatt, President and CEO.
Ms. Lynn Lucas, Good Technology’s new Chief Marketing Officer, has extensive experience in working with leading technology organizations, having served most recently as Vice President for Global Collaboration Marketing at Cisco Systems. In that role, Lucas was responsible for driving overall marketing strategy for the company’s $5 billion collaboration business. Ms. Lucas has also held previous roles at Proxim and HP.
Dan Stoks, Chief Revenue Officer, Worldwide Sales, Services and Partners, has more than 25 years of experience building, developing, and directing global sales and consulting organizations for enterprise cloud, mobility, security, and big data solutions. Most recently, he served as Vice President and General Manager for HP Software, the world’s 5th largest software business. Prior to this, Mr. Stoks held senior leadership roles at Oracle and Adexa.
Ms Cheryln Chin, Senior Vice President, Operations, has more than 20 years of business development, sales and operations experience in global enterprise and mobility. Most recently, she held senior leadership roles at Motorola where she was Corporate Vice President of Product Management for the company’s Android-based smartphone portfolio. Ms. Chin has also held senior leadership roles at Sun Microsystems and IBM.
